Beretta Tomcat Inox Cracked Frame

I too, have a Beretta Tomcat (blued) with a cracked frame. I bought it well before the 'wide frames' came out and noticed the crack while cleaning it after a range session. I sent it back to Beretta and when they finally responded they stated that it should be retired from service and that they`d give me $100 credit towards a new Tomcat. If you own or are intending to buy a used TomCat, please check for function and cracked frame, if the machine was built in the earlier release period. Ed/quote Hey thanksa bunch.I bought mine in either 2001 or 2002.I may be allright on the frame thing recall. I will try some of the silver tips for carry use. I madee a mistake that I have since learned not to do. I was the first kid on the block with the Tomcat when it was new. After a couple hundred rounds it cracked a frame. Beretta fixed it quickly. Then the slide cracked. They came out with a new 'widebody' as they called it that solved the problem. Once all that was taken care of I really liked. Right from their inception, Beretta small frame pistols such as the 3032 Tomcat Inox were designed to be carried concealed. Therefore, the lines of the Tomcat are snag-free, with the sights being engineered to easily slide in and out of a holster, pocket or belly-band without catching on anything.

I'm looking for some input from those that have owned/carried and shot one. I'm in the market for a pocket gun. I was leaning towards the Ruger LCP, but the Tomcat looks like it might be a little better craftet for longtermdurability. Ammo availability is also an issue. I have seen more shelves with .32 than .380 in my area. I know both have had some quality issues, I just like the thought of carrying steel better than plastic. Oh, and let's not get into a debate about stopping power. I am a .45 guy personally, I'm just in the market for something that could be thrown into a pocket as a back up or primary depending on attire. Having even a .32 or .22 is better than harsh language in a SD situation. Thanks for your time.
